Road Construction and Traffic Closures Beginning October 15
The Village of Endicott is advising residents and motorists of several road construction projects scheduled to begin Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026. Work will include roadway milling and paving at multiple locations, along with improvements associated with the Village's Traffic Signal Replacement Project.
Residents and motorists should anticipate temporary road closures, traffic detours, and parking restrictions throughout the affected areas.
Road Milling and Paving – Beginning at 7 AM
Broome Bituminous will begin milling operations on Thursday, October 15, at 7 a.m. along the following roadways:
Robble Avenue – East Franklin Street to Watson Boulevard
Watson Boulevard – Robble Avenue to Cornell Avenue
Witherill Street – Just east of Odell Avenue to Rogers Avenue
Squires Avenue – Watson Boulevard to Witherill Street
Milling operations are expected to take several days, with paving scheduled for the following week.
During construction, affected roadways will be closed to unnecessary traffic. Flaggers will be stationed at each end of the work zones to accommodate school buses, emergency vehicles, and residents who live within the affected areas.
Important Parking Restrictions
All vehicles parked along the affected roadways must be removed by 6:00 AM each day during construction. Vehicles remaining on the roadway may be towed at the owner's expense.
The remaining section of Witherill Street, from Odell Avenue to Oak Hill Avenue, is scheduled to be addressed next year as part of a larger paving project that will also include Oak Hill Avenue and Odell Avenue.
Oak Hill Avenue and Watson Boulevard Intersection Closure – Beginning at 7:30 AM
Also beginning Thursday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 a.m., a contractor will conduct roadway milling at the intersection of Oak Hill Avenue and Watson Boulevard as part of the Village's Traffic Signal Replacement Project.
To safely complete the work, the intersection will be temporarily closed to regular traffic. Road closure signs will be placed one block away from the intersection in each direction to direct motorists around the work zone.
School buses will be permitted to travel through the intersection during construction.
The intersection will reopen to all traffic once milling operations are completed.
Motorist and Resident Information
Residents and motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes, allow additional travel time, observe posted traffic signs, and use caution when traveling near construction areas.
Construction schedules may be affected by weather or unforeseen conditions.
The Village of Endicott appreciates the community's patience and cooperation as these important infrastructure improvements are completed.
